MAGICAL
CASTLE
(or Until the Boat is Afloat)
Over a thousand years ago
in the beautiful town of Torri,
King Berengario made his home
happily without worry.
The olive tree,
his friend with lots of brain power,
well planted was near his tower.
On the top of the castle,
the °Torresano° eagle a superb sentry was he
for water and sky far away he coud see.
In this colorful and sun soaked paradise
lemons, olives and bathers
forever have met sunrise.
And She, of the bathers the most lovely,
next to him so wanted the king.
One day, which I don’t know,
a swan in the town harbor one saw.
The eagle enchanted
his welcome he gave.
but the king, by the olive tree alerted,
cast a preoccupied gaze.
The swan followed the yellow big road,
the harbor of which it was a frame,
and picking a wild rose
with his beak to Her, the Lovely, he gave.
Needless to say, She a kiss bestowed,
and He a dashing young prince became.
And King Berengario fooled adeptly
from whence he came returned swiftly.
